Pastor Barry is a licensed and ordained to the Gospel Ministry at Central Baptist Church in Hixson, TN. He graduated from Bryan College with a BA in Religious Education, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity, as well as doctoral seminars at New Orleans Seminary and the University of Tennessee.
He served in churches throughout Tennessee and Mississippi before being called in 1988 as the Preaching Associate for Dr. Ron Phillips at Central Baptist Church in Hixson, TN. He also served on the North American Mission Board of the SBC.

Pastor Barry and his wife Amy have four adult children. 

Ms. Callie began with TLA September 2013 as a young college student within our afterschool program. She has worked in many positions at Trophy Lakes Academy as teaching our young 2's and babies.  She joined our office administration in 2020 and moved into the Assistant Director position.  Ms Callie has a loving heart for the children and families at Trophy Lakes Academy. 

Megan has been a part of our TLA family since 2017. She started out teaching in many different classroom ages and has taken on the assistant director role in 2024. She has a true love for children. She is excited for this new opportunity to help grow TLA and minister to our children and families.

Tracy has been a part of our TLA family since 2013. She has taught in our classes, been a teachers aide, and has been the administrative assistant since 2018. Her passion for helping others has made her perfect for the role of administrative assistant for our TLA family.

Brittany has been a part of our TLA family since 2013. She has taught in our 12 month - 24 month classes, but been with all ages within our afterschool program. She is starting her first year with infants alongside Ms. Silvia and is so excited to love on the babies. She loves to watch each individual child grow while learning through sensory play and hands on activities.

Lauren has been a part of our TLA family since 2017. She moved to Corpus in 2020 with a great opportunity for a church internship.  God then lead her back to her TLA roots where she has such a love for Jesus Christ and children. She has been teaching our 12-17 month olds and has absolutely loved it!

Faith joined our TLA family in July of 2025 as our 12-17 month teacher. She moved from Utah, where she was a nanny for a  family of 2 children. Working with the ages of 18 months- 11 years. She has a passion for children  and came to TLA to experience more challenge and to care for different age groups. She has loved teaching our 12-17 month olds and feels this is the age group for her.

Diana joined our TLA family in July of 2025 as our young two's teacher. She recently moved from California, where she was currently working with children and was looking for a faith-based childcare environment when she came across TLA.

Michelle has been a part of our TLA family since 2021. She has been teaching for a total of 13 years, anywhere from the age of infants to Pre-k. She is most passionate to teach three's as she loves to see the growth of their personalities and teach the love of God.

Emily joined our TLA family in June of 2025 as a three year old teacher. Her favorite style of teaching is interactive teaching, where she can do more hands on with the children. She loves seeing the growth of each child throughout the school year and she is so glad she was lead to TLA where she was brought back to her passion for teaching children.

Sheila has been a part of our TLA family since 2006. She has been teaching for a total of 28 years. She loves teaching about science and anything related to nature. She loves to be silly with the children and make the classroom environment fun. She moved from Florida in 2006 and God lead her to TLA where she has been ever since.

Cristina has been a part of our TLA family since 2009. She has been teaching for over 30 years. She has such a love for children and Jesus Christ. She believes that she has been given the seed to plant Gods wisdom and knowledge into each child she has the privilege of teaching.

Trudia is our longest employee. She has been a part of our TLA family since 2001. She is a teachers aide and loves to step in and help with the children. She has such a big heart for all of the families at TLA. You will see her at our early morning drop off time with a big welcoming smile on her face.

Robin has been a part of our TLA family since 2013. God has given her the gift of compassion and empathy. She loves to pray with our children, families, and other staff. You will see her leading our weekly chapels with such conviction as her love for God is truly amazing.

Torie has been a part of our TLA family since 2018. She started with us as a parent and then God lead her to join our family as a teachers aide where she helps assist in classrooms with children.

Amanda joined our TLA family in November of 2025 as a teachers aide. Having worked in childcare for 9 years, she has worked with many different ages including infants where she is most passionate.

Trinity joined our TLA family in October of 2025. She began with us as a part time afterschool teacher and closer. She has now added Infant Aide to her title and works very closely with our Infant teachers and our babies everyday. She absolutely loves working with the infants and enjoys the excitement each day brings. 

Keyliana joined our TLA family in 2025 as an afterschool teacher, aide, and closer. She has a passion for children and is preparing to go to school for teaching. She has worked with ages Pre-K through middle school at Clayton Youth which is a afterschool and summer school program.

Ashley joined our TLA family in September of 2025 as a afterschool teacher and closer. She was looking for a part time position specifically with children when she found us, as a great way to utilize her extra time with the joy of caring for children.
